Miss. Seretta Johnson- Assistant Principal

Miss. Johnson was born and raised here in Caddo Parish. She graduated from Southwood High School. She attended Louisiana State University in Shreveport where she received her Bachelors in Liberal Arts in Secondary Education Social Studies and later returned to complete her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. She is the newest member of the Green Oaks Performing Arts Academy Administration Team.

After graduation with her Bachelor’s Degree, she was hired to teach World History at Green Oaks Performing Arts Academy. After completing her first year at Green Oaks, Miss Johnson taught American History and served as Social Studies Department Chair. During her time at Green Oaks, Miss. Johnson has been award Teacher of Month and Green Oaks Teacher of Year 2012-2013. She was a Mentor Teacher under the TAP Program and has served on the Green Oaks Leadership Team since 2012. She served on the Caddo Parish Social Studies Curriculum Team for American History and also assisted in the creation and completion of the World History and Civics Caddo Parish Curriculum Guides.

Miss. Johnson enjoys new learning and sharing her love of education with other. She has attended numerous Professional Developments, including Advancement Placement training and was selected for the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History Teachers at Columbia University in New York City in the summer of 2014. She has worked closely with the Parish to ensure that History Teachers received quality assistance and resources. She strongly believes “Students cannot learn from teachers whom they have no confidence in” and that means providing and supporting teachers so they feel confident in the classroom and in turn, that confidence is reflecting through increased student achievement.
