Mr. Alexander - Principal

Mr. Marvin G. Alexander was born in Shreveport, LA and grew up in Mansfield, LA, where he attended Mansfield High School. He received an academic scholarship to Grambling State University where he was an outstanding student. He continued his basketball career at Grambling State University as an assistant Men’s Basketball Coach for 5 years.

Mr. Alexander received his B.S. degree at GSU and his masters + 60 between GSU & LSU-S. Mr. Alexander has twenty-two years of experience in the fields of teaching, coaching and administration. His twenty-two year tenure includes fourteen years at Huntington High School. While at Huntington, Mr. Alexander served seven years as Assistant Principal, and seven years as Head Basketball Coach. This will be his eight year as Principal at Green Oaks Performing Arts Academy. Students compare Alexander to an “army general” because he runs a tight ship and wants things done decently and in order.

Mr. Alexander’s Educational philosophy is “Where there is no discipline, there is no learning.” He is married to Deborah Alexander and has two daughters, Delilah and Zoe and one son Marvin II.
